Introducing the Artist​

Heather Matthews is a British artist inspired to bring the natural world to a modern frame. Her paintings and prints can be found in private collections across America, Canada, Singapore, South Africa, and many European countries including the UK. Heather gets enquiries about her work and teaching as far afield as New Zealand and her work has supported various charities through donations of paintings for auction.

Artist Statement

My inspiration comes mostly from the natural world and I love to create vibrant paintings in a variety of media that reflects my passion for art.                                             
I paint at different times in oils, acrylics, watercolour and soft pastels, as well as mixed media. It's exciting to start with a blank canvas and transform it into an artwork that can become a part of someone's home life and memories for years to come. 

I have taken many commissions from individuals and groups and have enjoyed working closely with them in order to bring their vision  to life. 

I also run art workshops and I believe that anyone can learn to paint.
